STEM Scholars 2025 Graduates Receive Full Scholarships

June 2025

The next generation of STEM leaders is ready to take on the world!

As graduation approaches, several of our STEM Scholars reflected on their four-year journey in the program—sharing how it shaped not only their academic interests, but also who they are and where they are headed next. Click here to meet some of the students and hear the impact of the program, their journey, and plans for the future.

One hundred percent of the sixteen graduating students are attending college including Penn State University, Williamson College, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Millersville University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, United States Naval Academy, and University of Pittsburgh.

Two outstanding students earned scholarships covering full tuition, room and board! WOW!

  • Denisia earned a Questbridge Match Scholarship, which covers full tuition, room and board, supplies, and travel to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Denisia also received the Gates Millennium Scholarship, which will cover her graduate school costs.
  • Derek earned Penn State's Bunton-Waller Fellow Award, which includes academic support and mentorship, in addition to full tuition, room and board, for eight semesters.

The Franklin Institute STEM Scholars program proudly supports a select group of Philadelphia-area high school students who commit to four years of intensive science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) enrichment, driven by their deep passion for STEM.

We are incredibly proud of these young change-makers and all they’ve accomplished—and even more excited about what lies ahead for them.
