That’s a Wrap! Another Successful Summer Dance Camp
July 2026
The Let's Dance Summer Camp, presented in partnership with Philadelphia Ballet, welcomed 120 students from across Philadelphia for a free week of dance, singing, and technical theater training. Thanks to the support of the Reliance Matrix Foundation, participants experienced an inspiring week of artistic exploration, mentorship, and creative collaboration at no cost.
This year, the program expanded through an exciting partnership with Opera Philadelphia, introducing vocal training for dancers and dance instruction for singers. To learn more about this unique collaboration and the summer camp, check out this WHYY feature.
Throughout the week, students immersed themselves in classes led by artists and industry professionals. Participants trained in ballet, contemporary dance, musical theater, and vocal performance, while others gained hands-on experience in technical theater, including production, lighting, sound, carpentry, and stage management. The week culminated in a dynamic student performance inspired by Wicked and The Wiz, presented in Philadelphia Ballet's new Dance Innovation Lab.
More than just developing artistic skills, the program empowered students to build confidence, discover new talents, and envision future opportunities in the performing arts. Hear directly from the students in this short video as they share what the experience meant to them.
By eliminating financial barriers and providing meals and stipends for high school participants, the program ensured every student could fully engage in their creative journey.
A special thank you to the outstanding teaching artists, mentors, and staff whose passion, encouragement, and expertise challenged students to grow while making the first week of summer break an unforgettable experience.
