Summer Teen Media Premieres Films at Reliance Matrix’s Former Home Office

The Summer Teen Media students proudly showcased the films they created this summer at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Perelman Building—a truly full-circle moment given the building's special history with Reliance Matrix. The Perelman Building was once the Philadelphia Home Office of Reliance Matrix, serving as the company's home from approximately the 1970s until 2000, when it was sold to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The Summer Teen Media Program is a six-week intensive that gives students the opportunity to take their filmmaking ideas from script to screen. Throughout the program, students create two short films and one longer collaborative film while gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of the filmmaking process.

Beyond filmmaking, students develop valuable real-world skills by learning how to pitch an idea to a panel of industry professionals. Before producing their collaborative film, they present their vision—including the plot, character development, and potential filming locations—and receive feedback from industry experts. Students also design movie posters to help market and promote their films.

The Perelman Auditorium was packed with proud families and friends who came out to celebrate and cheer on these talented young creatives. It was an inspiring evening that showcased not only their creativity and filmmaking talent, but also their hard work, confidence, and growth throughout the summer.
